Choose disqualifiers before a winner

List the conditions you cannot compromise on: a supported device, a required conversation mode, editable reference details or a maximum upfront payment. A service that cannot meet a required condition does not become suitable because it performs well on an unrelated memory question.

For uncertain requirements, write “needs verification.” Missing evidence is not a pass and is not automatically a failure.

Separate cost per month from cash due today

Consider an invented example, not a quoted product price. Plan A charges $120 annually; Plan B charges $15 monthly. Plan A averages $10 a month but requires the annual payment. With $6 of estimated monthly extras and 20 sessions, its effective monthly cost is $16 and its cost per session is $0.80.

Plan B with the same extras costs $21 per month, or $1.05 per session. These calculations do not account for refunds, taxes, changing usage or unused allowances. A lower average can still be a poor fit if you do not want an annual commitment.

The local calculator uses the amounts you enter. Put the full annual subscription price in the price field when annual billing is selected; extras remain a monthly estimate. It does not retrieve or validate checkout prices.

Visual field note / 07Illustrative calculation: annual $120 plus $6 monthly extras is $0.80 per session at 20 sessions; monthly $15 plus $6 extras is $1.05 per session.

Include the cost of maintaining continuity

Keep a second, non-monetary record: minutes spent correcting notes, preparing recaps and recovering a scene. Do not fold that into an arbitrary dollar figure. A user who enjoys maintaining a story bible may value the same controls another user finds burdensome.

If a result only works after three reminders, record all three. A service can be workable with assistance without being the strongest fit for someone seeking low-maintenance conversation.

What a defensible conclusion sounds like

Use a bounded statement: “On this plan, in text chat, this correction was used at the next-day checkpoint without a manual note.” Avoid expanding that into “the app remembers forever.” If one service lacks a valid observation, postpone that comparison instead of converting the gap into zero.
